Support
CMU Orientation Quest (“O-Quest”) is built and run by ScottyLabs, a student organization at Carnegie Mellon University.
Contact us
Email [email protected] and a member of the team will get back to you. We aim to reply within two business days during orientation week.
To help us resolve things quickly, please include:
- Your Andrew ID.
- The name of the challenge or prize involved, if any.
- What you expected to happen, and what happened instead.
- Your phone model and operating system version.
Common questions
-
A tap did not register. Make sure NFC is enabled, hold the top of your phone flat against the poster, and keep it still for a second. Each challenge can only be completed once per person, and some challenges do not open until later in orientation week.
-
The app cannot find my location. Challenges confirm you are on campus, so O-Quest needs location access while you use the app. You can grant it in your device settings under the app’s permissions.
-
I cannot sign in. O-Quest uses your Andrew ID through CMU single sign-on. If sign-in fails, confirm you can reach other CMU services, then email us with the exact message you see.
-
My points or prizes look wrong. Email us with your Andrew ID and the challenge involved. Points are counted toward your housing community for the Carnegie Cup, and we can look up your history.
-
I want my account or data deleted. You can delete your account from the profile screen in the app, which removes your progress. You may also email us and we will handle it for you.
Accessibility and feedback
If any part of O-Quest is difficult to use, or you have an idea for making it better, we would like to hear about it at [email protected].
